The Flywheel Effect

I answered a question ages ago about whether belief came before action, or vice versa.

My answer?

Well, you can do either.

There is plenty of evidence to show that you can take action before you believe something is possible.

I mean, beliefs helps, right?

I was told that belief always comes first, regardless.

As you can imagine, that conversation stopped pretty quickly.

The thing is, there is this model that I use with some clients called the “Flywheel model” and I did a little video on it.

But for those of you who are a bit TL/DR, I’ll explain here.

If you don’t have the belief and that is stopping you from taking action, you can borrow some from someone else.

(Or maybe a better way to put it is, it can be loaned to you)

Just enough belief from an external source to get you moving, until you have the evidence to fuel your own belief.

Friend, family member, coach, mentor - whatever is there to help you. Use it.

And the obvious call to action.

If you a bit stuck with taking some action, maybe we need a conversation.

You know where to find me.
