So, do you feel lucky... punk?

How many of you base your approach to life on luck?

Allowing your success and failure to be in the hands of chance, without any input from yourselves.

Looking at others and going “oh they are so lucky…”.

C’mon, we all do it.

Something happens that is really cool, but seems unrelated to the actions we take either in direction or proportion.

Those around you have success, but you can’t see what they are doing in the background.

Was it luck, or have we just not joined the dots yet?

What is it that we are either unable to see, or don’t allow ourselves to see?

There’s a quote that my dad has used many times over the years - "I’m a great believer in luck. The harder I work, the more luck I have”.

I’ve no idea where it came from, but for me it kinda nails it.

Do the work in the direction that you need to go, and you’ll get an outcome that you desire.

Simples, right?

Dirty Harry always used to challenge his victims.

“I know what you’re thinking", he would drawl, after taking down a perp, “did he fire six shots or only five?”

Lying on the floor, with a .44 Magnum pointing squarely at them, you could see them thinking about it.

Running the numbers.

Trying to decide on their next move.

“So, are you feeling lucky… punk?"

Some would chance it and try their luck, others wouldn’t, but it was clear that Harry knew exactly what the score was.

Every damn time.
